36 Weeks!!

I am 36 weeks and the baby is weighing approx 6 lbs. I had a Dr appt today and the baby is head down again and has dropped down a little bit. I'm 30% effaced, but not dilated. So, he's doing all the right things! My amniotic fluid is on the low side, so they will keep checking that to make sure it doesn't dip down more, otherwise they may induce me. Hopefully at the next visit the levels will be good! We are so excited to meet our son, but want him to stay put a little longer so he's nice and healthy!! As you can see I'm HUGE, which is uncomfortable...but I am feeling better since I'm not on my feet as much. I don't know how people are on their feet all day every day at the end of pregnancy. My body was not dealing well with that! I stopped working last week and I've been trying to get things done around the house (sterilizing bottles, installing the car seat, finishing the nursery.) Our plan is for me to stay home with our son for the first year, which is the greatest gift of all!! Thank you to my sweet husband.
I also finished the nursery this weekend. All it needs are some pictures of the baby inside the frames, a name over the bed (what could it be??) and of course a sweet baby boy!

WE MADE IT THROUGH THE BLIZZARD!!

Friday around 10am it started snowing and it didn't stop until Saturday around 6pm. We accumulated a lot of snow here in Bristow, VA. Saturday we had fun watching movies, playing guitar hero as well as some other games. Sunday, however, was not as much fun because we spent the entire day shoveling snow. I never realized how long our driveway was!!! It felt like it would never end. We had a pretty good system though....I broke up the snow with a shovel and then Jon shoveled it. God was so good in providing a sunny day, which helped make the day more bearable. We are both pretty pooped though.
I also put together some of the baby items, which I know won't be utilized right away, but it made me happy to have all these baby items in the house! I kept thinking of all the fun our son will have with his new toys! I can't wait to hear him giggle!

33 Weeks

We had a childbirth class last weekend, which I thought was really helpful. It talked a lot about how to deal with contractions and labor as well as Jon's role as "coach." Tours for the hospital stopped due to flu season, but start back next weekend, so we plan to do that too. There's no better way to spend Valentines Day. What a wonderful gift!
It has been snowing a lot this week and apparently we're going to have a blizzard this weekend with around 24" of snow. So, you Texans enjoy that warm weather! We miss it!
Here are some recent pictures of the ever growing belly at 33 weeks! Also, a picture of my sweet husband and puppy playing in the snow...aren't they cute!

PICTURES OF THE NURSERY

We got our nursery furniture this weekend. Still waiting for the glider and need to find a night stand. I also still need to decorate the hutch and hang stuff on the walls. But we'll get there. Just thought I'd post some pics of the work in progress. Can't wait for the whole thing to come together and have our sweet boy in his room :)
