We're Back from Texas

Our trip to Texas was wonderful and very busy! It meant a lot to us to be able to see our dear friends and family. As always we're sad we couldn't spend more time with everyone!! We plan on making a trip every summer. Chance did fabulous on the plane ride. He slept pretty much the whole time on both flights! The worst part of the trip was that our flight was very delayed returning home. We didn't end up getting home until 2:30am. Poor Jon had a morning shift and had to head to work by 4am...so he was up over 24 hours. He was a good sport about it, but he was miserable!
I didn't get near the number of pictures I wanted while I was in Texas because my camera died and we didn't have a charger! UGG! I will make sure to have that next time so I don't miss any of those priceless moments!
When we returned Chance had a doctor's appointment! He now weighs 15 lbs. (50%) , 25 7/8 inches (75%). He got a couple of his 4 month vaccines and we go back in a couple weeks for the others. He was a tough little guy and seems to be doing great! I can't get over how quickly time is flying by with our sweet boy! He's smiling and laughing all the time and seems to LOVE his feet! He's always trying to get those little toes in his mouth. He's grabbing rattles and toys and is very vocal! As always-- we're working on getting him interested in sleeping! He sleeps great once he's able to fall asleep. It's the falling asleep part that is a challenge!
Here are a few pictures of Chance with his friends from Texas! It was wonderful getting all the girls together for lunch with their kiddos. And Chance loved playing with his BFF Major Anthony Ciers! What a pair!

Chance enjoyed some pool time on his vacation too!

Here is Chance with his cousin Hope and cousin Grayson. While we were in Texas we celebrated Hope's 2nd Birthday! Happy Birthday Hope!

New pictures

Hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day! We're so thankful for all those who serve our country so that we may enjoy our freedom!!! We celebrated with some friends that came over with their daughter. I think Chance has a new girlfriend :) Our street also had a block party, which was fun to meet some neighbors. It was awfully hot though (even by Texas standards.) So, I didn't have Chance out too long...even though he seems to like to sleep outside. He'll be hot and sweaty and fall sound asleep.
We've been working on naps a lot lately. I have realized the importance of nap time!! He's so much happier and sleeps better at night when he's had good naps. His morning nap he now takes without any difficulty. The afternoon nap, however, he will only sleep if I'm laying down with him. Therefore, I lay down with him. I'm so blessed to have the opportunity to do that. I guess what I've discovered after reading many different theories on infant sleeping is that every baby is different. Different approaches work for different kids and we will figure it all out in time! For now he's perfection!!

Here are the latest pics of our sweet angel!

Here are a couple 4th of July pictures. Chance is dressed and ready for church and then ready for the party!!
