Bed rest for the duration...

Today started off like any other morning. Chance woke up around 6:30 and I went to see my little stinker! I changed his diaper and brought him into my bed to cuddle and play for a few minutes before starting the day...as per our morning ritual. I asked if he was ready for breakfast and he and the dog did a little dance and he climbed off the bed. I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth before heading downstairs and felt a big gush. PANIC set in! I thought at first my water had broken...turns out it was a massive gush of blood. I knew with placenta previa this could happen and just prayed that God would take care of us and take away my fears. I spoke to my doctor right away and she recommended having someone drive me to hospital because the bleeding was subsiding. I called our neighbor to see if they could do triple duty.....take me to hospital and watch Chance...all while preparing for their own son's first birthday party!!! I will always be eternally greatful for their help today!!!
Jon came from work and met us at the hospital. We were so relieved to see a strong heartbeat on the monitor. I had felt kicks on the way to hospital, but was completely overjoyed to hear that heartbeat!
I started having contractions so they got things ready for a c-section. Thankfully, meds stopped the contractions and bleeding was now scant. Currently it looks like I was stay in the hospital laying flat until Carson is born. I've had steroid shots to help his lung development and they plan to do a c-section around 36 weeks.
We are so unbelievable thankful to God for so many things. That this pregnancy happened at all and that he's gotten us to 34 weeks before bedrest! All while keeping us healthy! We're incredibly thankful to our family, friends and neighbors for all their help right now too!!! Also, for the little things like no traffic because it's a Saturday! God really does care about details.
Sad to say I was not on my game. For the first time in months I didn't have gas in the car or my phone by my bed. Once again God was in control way more than I was...I think that was a good reminder for me.
Please continue to lift us up in prayer as I think the next 2 weeks will be rather long....God willing baby Carson stays put for 2 more weeks. Thank you all!!! With love, The Crockett family
