Jon, Indiana and I traveled from Texas to Fairfax, Virginia over 4 days. We stopped along the way to see some interesting sights like Graceland, Nashville's Grand 'Ole Opry, Duke University, Virginia's capital and the beautiful city of Raleigh, NC. It was a fun trip that went by very quickly!! The only flaw was that more hotels don't accept dogs! We made our hotel selections based on the pet friendly hotels...we got to know La Quinta well!
We arrived in our apartment and have gotten things settled for the most part. For us it's been kinda like ruffin' it without cable, air conditioning (it was broken) or to our amazement a microwave. We even acquired a new coffee table. A box! Beautiful, but hey we only brought the basics to our apt and needed a place to put our feet up! It has all provided us with a lot of laughs! Indy is liking it here too. She makes friends by howling and strutting her stuff whenever the chance provides!
We had a doctor's appointment this week, which I was very nervous about meeting a new doctor and seeing how the baby was doing! All things turned out well!!! Praise GOD! At our last visit the baby's heartbeat was 109 (which was exceptional for 6wks) This week the baby's heartrate was 140! We were both elated! The practice we went to was recommended by the woman that sold us our house! It's a set of 3 docs and the one I met actually went to school in TX and did her residency at Baylor! What a small world this is!
We went by our house this week and as you can see it's really coming along! We went to the design center and picked everything out which was a lot of fun! Can't wait to see it all together!
Jon's excited and a little nervous about starting work! They are tossing him right in traveling and staying busy! We ventured into the Metro system here..it truly is a different way of living, but very exciting with all the hustle and bustle of so many people in our nations capital!
Other than that we've been staying busy trying to get settled in our new home!
I love your blog! Now, I don't feel like you are so far away. I am glad you guys are there and enjoying the adventure. Miss you tons! :)
